" I've got an angel
She doesn't wear any wings
She wears a heart that can melt my own
She wears a smile that can make me wanna sing
She gives me presents
She gives me everything I could wish for"... I love you Halo...
Lyrics by Jack Johnson
Thirteen years ago today, this not so little person anymore, came into our life. She is our joy, our light and our precious gift. We're so glad you were born! Happy Birthday you big teenager!

Beautiful Halo,
You are that "right on time" soul in this life. Your birth was like coming upon a pool of clearest, purest water after a long hot journey. Everyone was refreshed by the bundle of preciousness that is you. That remains your nature. You are still the one who just makes everything feel good and right.
When you were a little girl you didn't just walk up to those you cherished, you ran and lept into their arms! You still do! You make everyone feel valued and important.
I love everything about you. I love your icy-blue eyes that listen and understand intently. I love your quiet strength. I love the way time and cares just seem to fly away when you plop yourself on the couch to talk, or play a game, watch t.v. or just be... just be together. You're good at that. Being. You're only thirteen and you've already mastered the art of 'Present Living'.
I adore you and love you with my entire heart. You are a most cherished gift in my world and I skip and dance as I shout out "I am so glad YOU were born!"
Have the happiest day and week of celebrating what we celebrate in our hearts perpetually. Your birth day!
With buckets, rivers, oceans and galaxies of love,
Nana (and Papa too!)
Dear Haley,
This is me now. I am in love with you too. I am so glad you were born. When you were young, you were almost as tall as me. And I remember holding you and feeding you milk and stuff. I remember I used to like to watch Boston Red Sox and you would lay in my arms through the whole game. And I knew that you could hear the game 'cuz whenever they got runs you would jump in my arms! I am so happy and honored and better that I am your Papa and I was really glad when you were born! I think I'm a better Papa because of you. I like that I have always looked taller because of you. But I don't know how much longer that will last.
Now you are a teenager. I hope you will still love me. I love the Boston Red Sox and I know you do too! So we are going to win the World Series for your birthday this year!
I don't think I should go wave running any more. I'm happy that I can be here to say "Happy Birthday To YOU!" If we were together right now, I would hug you.
I used to be a teenager a long time ago. I hope you pick the right car. I hope it's American. A Chevy.
A word to the wise from Papa: Always remember your whole life "Love never fails!"
I love you!
Papa
