" I've got an angel
She doesn't wear any wings
She wears a heart that can melt my own
She wears a smile that can make me wanna sing
She gives me presents
She gives me everything I could wish for"... I love you Halo...
Lyrics by Jack Johnson
Thirteen years ago today, this not so little person anymore, came into our life. She is our joy, our light and our precious gift. We're so glad you were born! Happy Birthday you big teenager!
Aloha
Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 08:12AM Tuesday already?! Lookie what I found for crap shoot! I absolutely love this picture (even if it could be considered crap). Why? Because 1. It reminds me of our fabuloso trip to Maui. 2. It represents dance and movement held still in time. And 3. Major Aloha Spirit. Can we please go back Mr. Visa?...*sigh* Happy Tuesday....

Go get this book.
Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 03:28PM All I can say is that The Shack has pulled at my Spirit in a way I never felt before. Here are some other reviews:
This book eloquently captures the shift from being highly responsible people in a religious system, to walking in intimacy as we respond to the fragrance of Christ in daily life.
Arthur Burk, Sapphire Leadership Group, Inc.
Don’t miss this! If there’s a better book out there capturing god’s engaging nature and his ability to crawl into our darkest nightmare with his love, light and healing, I’ve not seen it. For the most ardent believer or newest spiritual seeker, the shack is a must-read.Wayne Jacobsen, author of So You Don’t Want to Go to Church Anymore
An exceptional piece of writing that ushers you directly into the heart and nature of god in the midst of agonizing human suffering. This amazing story will challenge you to consider the person and the plan of god in more expansive terms than you may have ever dreamed.David Gregory, author of Dinner with a Perfect Stranger
Do you ever stand by the ocean, just close your eyes and breath deeply, filling your lungs with purity? That’s what The Shack is like. I’ve filled my lungs with clean, fresh air, after choking on the stifling smog of religiosity. At times I had tears in my eyes, and others I was laughing out loud.Dale Bruneski, corrections counselor (Canada)

Crap Shoot
Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 07:27AM Seems like all I post these days is about the 'crap shoot.' :) Here's one I took a couple of years ago. All the kids were playing in the rain while we were wine tasting. My friend's daughter was needing some time alone and I looked out the window and took this shot. It was getting dark and a storm was coming in. Sort of like how she was feeling at the time.
What's brewing in you today? Go here to play.
